doverflies

doverflies is my creative space. my space for ideas, things I like, things I want to learn more about, etc. my interests are fashion, design, different music scenes, and basically everything else popcultural. I’d say I’m pretty reflected and I KNOW that all of these things don’t have no deeper meaning for the world, I still like them tough.

doverflies are flies, that only live for one day (german: eintagsfliegen). trends do as well. many trends have a huge impact on the scene - but only on the scene. I’m fascinated that it’s a world on its own - with long- and short-term-trends, microcelebrities and known guidelines. I use this blog to learn more about it and to share my knowledge.

the directory represents the purpose of this website - being a collection of things I like. you may think that it’s called doverfiles, but no, I’m sorry. A friend of mine asked my why it’s not a zip folder (she wanted me to do a zip-open-animation on the landing page), but it’s not a zip-folder. it’s open.

yellow is a cool color to me. I own many yellow things. I associate it with creativity, abstraction, art, youth and with a loud personality. scientists say, that yellow is the color that causes happiness, optimism and enthusiasm for life. it’s a fast-moving color that symbolizes creativity and finding new ideas. I think that’s fitting.

this blog is being represented in a magazine-ish style. all of the blog pages are styled individually to create an encapsulated atmosphere with the story. I also like designing things.
